Camoranesi will pay for a nasty tackle

Mauro German Camoranesi was sentenced to pay 200 thousand pesos, about 45 thousand euros, as compensation, to former player Javier Pizzo. 13 years ago, Javier Pizzo was severely injured by Camoranesi. He played 4 more matches after the recover period but in the end was forced to end his career.

The accident happened in the derby between Aldosivi and Alvarado and the bad intervention suffered by Javier Pizzo caused the rupture of ligaments, tendon and meniscus of the knee.Pizzo’s knee was reduced to around 39 per cent of its previous capacity.

After a lengthy legal process, judge Heber Amalfi has ordered Camoranesi to pay Pizzo around 200 thousand pesos in compensation for a tackle, which is considered to be involuntary but also imprudent.Camoranesi’s legal team have stated that they will appeal the judgement.
