Wayne Rooney is not in shape.
Even though Wayne Rooney has a healthy 16 goals to his name already this season, he has managed just three from his last 13 appearances.
The Manchester United striker is not in his best shape lately but he insist that the his lack of goals is not a problem as long as his team will won the Barclays Premiership title. The striker struggles in front of goal both for club and country didn’t give bring many satisfaction to the player .He failed to score in both qualification matches against Israel and Andorra and in the championship game agains Blackburn at Old Trafford.
Asked if his lack of goals was a problem, he declared: “No, not really. We are top of the league at the moment so I’m not really worried. We are playing well and scoring goals, the team is scoring goals, so that doesn’t concern me. If I was missing chances and it cost us points of course it would be a problem. But at the minute we are winning all our games so it doesn’t deter me. A lot of people have been scoring goals and the defence have been brilliant as well.”
However the former Everton player admit that he will be upset if he fails to get over this bad period :”I have always said I want to improve on my previous goal tally.I scored 19 last season and I’m just looking to beat that really and do well for the team.”
Despite Rooney’s form, Manchester United has won seven straight league games and is on first place with 6 points in front of the second.
