Roy Makaay : “it would take a miracle”

Roy Makaay declared that it would take “a miracle” for Bayern Munich to win the championship this season.

Bayern Munich lost 1-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt in their last game and they are nine points behind leaders Schalke, their opponents on Saturday.The last game has made it almost impossible for the Bavarians to keep the trophy, according to Makaay who declared for the official website:” With a nine-point deficit on Schalke, and with only eight games left, we would need a miracle. I don’t think any team has historically closed such a gap. Furthermore,we don’t have just one team ahead of us, but three.”
Bayern has now a new goal: to ensure a place in the Champions League next season. In order to do that they either have to win the Champions League this year, or get over Stuttgart or Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
Roy Makaay declared “I think it would be a good idea if we concentrate fully on finishing third,” added the 32-year-old. Obviously, we still have hope in the Champions League and it would be a dream for me to play in a Champions League final for once. But first we have to see how it goes against AC Milan.”
Bayern will play wit Milan on San Siro next week and will look for revenge. They lost 5-2 on aggregate in the second round of the competition last season.
