Ottmar Hitzfeld is optimistic

Bayern Munich manager, Ottmar Hitzfeld is “optimistic” and say that his team can win the Bundesliga title this season.

Bayern Munich are currently in fourth place and six points behind leaders Schalke 04 , after their 1-1 with Werder Bremen. Ottmar Hitzfeld told Vanity Fair: “Even if we have just thrown away two points against Bremen, we are still fighting to reach the very top of the table. In 2001, we were still champions despite losing seven games.”

Hitzfeld admits he like his job more after a 2 years break from football management. He worked as a television specialist after he end the contract with Bayern in 2004.

Quote: “I have so much fun with my job now that I never thought possible.” The coach think also to extend his current stay with the club beyond the end of the season even he previously insisted he did not want to sign a new deal with the club.
